The trial of the former Prime Minister, Moussa Mara, has opened at the Pôle national de lutte contre la cybercriminalité in Bamako, ont rapporté les médias locaux. No verdict has yet been rendered. His lawyer, Mountaga Tall, had indicated that the procedure involved a request for provisional release and an examination of the merits of the case. The request for conditional release was, however, rejected. Moussa Mara, imprisoned since August, is being prosecuted for “attacking the credit of the State” and “inciting to disturb public order”, after a message published on social networks last July.
