In a text published in Le Quotidien – the title of which he founded – and from which we reprint large extracts, the journalist, under the impact of an international arrest warrant, reviews the circumstances of his departure for France, despite the prohibition of exit from the territory concerning him. “I had decided to leave Senegal in the night of 23 to 24 September 2025. I had planned to travel to France, where I had a professional rendezvous, by the flight of that night, of the national company Air Sénégal. I had finished my police formalities with the various necessary controls. The police officer responsible for this exercise had naturally finished checking my biometric data and checking his computer’s indications, and had finally affixed the stamp ‘Départ’ on my passport, as well as on the boarding pass.
