In the framework of October Rose, the Fondation Senelec in partnership with the Ligue Sénégalaise de Lutte contre le Cancer (LISCA), organised on Thursday 30 October 2025, a large day of screening for breast and cervical cancer at the Centre de Santé de Yeumbeul. Through its Foundation, Senelec is once again partnering with LISCA to prevent and combat female cancers, including breast and cervical cancer. For this year, the Senelec Foundation has donated a colposcopy machine to strengthen the capacity for early detection and diagnosis in healthcare facilities. At the Centre de Santé de Yeumbeul, the Senelec Foundation has allowed some 500 women to benefit from free screening for breast and cervical cancer. Since the early hours of the morning, the Centre de Santé de Yeumbeul has vibrated to the rhythm of an exceptional mobilisation. Dressed in T-shirts and pink scarves offered by the Fondation Senelec, the women displayed smiling faces and the same determination: that of preventing rather than curing. The Senelec teams were fully involved, supporting the medical staff in the reception, orientation and awareness-raising of the participants. The women of Yeumbeul and other areas welcomed this good initiative which allowed them not only to have access to preventive care, but also to exchange with health professionals in a convivial atmosphere, marked by emotion and hope. Through this initiative, Senelec is consolidating its position as a citizen company, engaged in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to actively contribute to the promotion of women’s health and the prevention of cancer.
