Bakel: a Malian national arrested for advocating terrorism

The Gendarmerie de Tambacounda, situated at approximately 466 km east of Dakar, is conducting the interrogation of a Malian national for apologising for terrorism. The accused, Hndebé Key alias Bara Guillé or Obama, is suspected of being active in several WhatsApp groups disseminating jihadist content. According to the daily L’Observateur, it is an alert that has put the puce in the ear of the investigators. This information referred to the presence in Bakel, a locality close to the Malian border, of an individual making hostile statements towards the authorities of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). Without being asked, the elements of the search section of the Tambancounda Gendarmerie went to the village of Sinthiou Dialinguel, commune of Bélé, to proceed with the interrogation of Bara Guilé. The minute exploitation of the suspect’s phone allowed to confirm the suspicions. The investigators discovered numerous terrorist propaganda videos exalting the murderous attacks carried out in the AES.
