Nathan Tella hopes to help Bayer Leverkusen win the UEFA Europa League title this season, DAILY POST reports.
The former Bundesliga champions will face Polish club Lech Poznan in a matchday two encounter at the Poznan Stadium on Thursday (today).
Tella recalled his memories of past Europa League nights from 2023/24, when the Werkself enjoyed an unbeaten run to the final in Dublin.
“Those were magical nights. We want to build on those, as well as the last few games,” the Nigeria international was quoted by the club’s official website.
The winger scored his first-ever goal for Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League, netting in a 2-1 win at Molde on 5 October 2023.
The former Burnley star said the competition has a special place in his heart.
“This competition means a lot to me. They were my first games in Europe,” Tella said.
