Primature: Yassine Fall succeeded temporarily to Ousmane Sonko, in a climate of tension

By decree of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the Minister of Justice, Yassine Fall, was appointed to ensure the interim of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, on leave since 6 November 2025. This measure, lasting two weeks, is intended to guarantee the continuity of government action, in particular the coordination of the Council of Ministers and the follow-up of priority dossiers. This is a first since the arrival to power of the Diomaye-Sonko tandem, and it intervenes in a political context marked by tensions within the presidential coalition. Ousmane Sonko should resume his duties at the end of this period of rest fixed by presidential decree.
