President John Dramani Mahama has named Abla Dzifa Gomashie as the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, a shift announced on January 16, 2025, to highlight the government’s commitment to Ghana’s historical and artistic industries.
Dzifa Gomashie is a famous actress, film producer, filmmaker, and lawmaker with decades of experience in the art. She served from 2013 to 2017, as Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, where she was instrumental in developing the Ghana Culture Policy and the Creative Arts Industry Bill. Her intensive artistic efforts to Ghana and her strong ties to the country’s cultural heritage make her a fantastic fit for the position.
Gomashie now serves as a Queen Mother in the Aflao Traditional Area and is a member of Parliament for the Ketu South Constituency. Her academic qualifications is extremely impressive, with a University of Ghana-accredited Master of Philosophy in American Studies, a Bachelor of Fine Arts with First-Class Honors, and a Diploma in Theatre Arts. Her ardor for both her local and international reputation stems from her enthusiasm for both culture and education.
Gomashie is anticipated to promote the preservation of Ghana’s cultural tradition while promoting rise in the art and tourism industries in her new part.
