Tsakani – 17 Masters played a thrilling game against Sanitiser on January 18 at the Malandela ground. The game received support from community members and ended well for 17 Masters with a score of 2-0.
Sanitiser player Temogo Kgalema spoke on behalf of the coach, saying both teams had an equal chance to win the game in the first half.
“We created chances for ourselves. The second half changed so much as each team fought harder to score goals.
“Our biggest mistake within the game was the fact that we played a defensive game, we were trying to play a safe game and that ended up costing us,” said Kgalema.
He added that they are disappointed to have lost the game as they did not expect to lose. Tshepo Modise, the 17 Masters coach, said he is happy that they won the game citing that he did not expect to win this game as it posed a lot of challenges.
“We undermined our opponents simply because we always win against them. But this time, they displayed a lot of determination and further challenged us with tricks we did not expect.
“In the second half we implemented changes and made sure that we scored goals. I was hoping we would score one goal; the second one was not expected.
“We are beyond happy to have won this game. We needed to win in order to prove our strength and abilities,” he added.
