Leicester City and Marseille are pursuing a transfer for Akpom.

According to Completesports, Leicester City and Olympic Marseille are competing to acquire Ajax forward Chuba Akpom. Ajax has opened up the possibility for the ex-PAOK player to be loaned out this month, as reported by De Telegraaf. Sunderland, a club in the Sky Bet Championship, attempted to acquire Akpom earlier in the transfer window, but he turned down their offer. Meanwhile, both Leicester City and Marseille are anticipated to intensify their interest in the striker as the month progresses. The 29-year-old still has three and a half years left on his contract with Ajax. He joined the former European champions in 2023 following an impressive season with Middlesbrough, where he had a successful run. This season, he has netted eight goals in 31 matches for Ajax.
