Rangers extended their lead with a goal from Kingsley Maduforo just four minutes into the second half. Meanwhile, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, Heartland secured a 2-1 win against Shooting Stars. Chukwuma Agor opened the scoring for Heartland in the 60th minute. Shooting Stars equalized via a penalty from Adam Mustapha with 10 minutes remaining. Heartland clinched the victory with a penalty scored by John Bassey just two minutes before the end.
