Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, said politics won’t affect the discharge of his duties as minister.
Wike said he is the Minister of FCT to serve the people of the capital city, stressing that politics won’t affect his job.
He spoke while fielding questions from journalists after inspecting projects in the FCT.
Responding to the question, Wike said, “How will it affect my job? Politics isn’t here and you have to serve the people, the work will have to go on and politics won’t affect it.
“We have the area council elections that is coming up in just a few weeks and are we not doing our work?
“It won’t affect us, what’s important is for us to pay the contractor and I have told the FCDA to supervise and let us know from time to time to wake up ourselves and let us know, so politics of 2027 will not affect our work.”
The minister also spoke about the road projects he inspected, while expressing satisfaction with the level of work done.
“We went to the social research roads, to Nile University and Body of Benchers and very important the traffic that leads to the old road that leads to EFCC.
“The work done there is very encouraging and the company did assure that my the end of May they would have handed over that project and it’s one of the projects we have earmarked for inauguration during the president’s third year in office.
“From there, we went to the development child extension leading to the annex,” he added.
