Troops destroy terrorists’ enclaves during clearance operation in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, OPHK, have destroyed terrorists’ life-support structures and logistics hubs during a clearance operation in the Chongolo Kura general area of Borno State.

Zagazola Makama learned that the operation followed an earlier exploitation conducted on February 3 and was carried out by the 21 Special Armoured Brigade in conjunction with troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and volunteer fighters.

“The troops departed to Chongolo Kura to destroy terrorists’ life-support structures and logistics,” the sources said.

According to the sources, the troops cleared and destroyed the structures and subsequently moved to additional locations to deny the terrorists freedom of action within the area of responsibility.

The sources added that no contact was made with the terrorists during the operation.

“The troops returned to base at about 2:15 p.m. on February 4. The operation was hitch-free, the general security situation remains calm, and troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain satisfactory,” the sources said.

The military assured that sustained clearance operations would continue to deny terrorists safe havens and restore lasting peace to affected communities in the North-East.
