Emergency session: Abaribe moves for individual voting by senators

Abia South senator, Enyinania Enyinnaya, has moved a motion that the senators should vote individually on the debate surrounding electronic transmission of election results.

DAILY POST reports that the Senate on Tuesday commenced an emergency plenary session on the contentious amendments to the Electoral Act.

“We senators need to vote individually now,” Abaribe said.

Immediately after Abaribe’s motion, Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau rushed to meet Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the chamber is currently rowdy.
