Tensions escalate as Iran retaliates, fires missiles at Israel 

Tension escalated early Saturday morning as Iran reportedly launched missiles towards Israel in retaliation for earlier coordinated strikes on its territory.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that it detected missiles fired from Iran shortly after the offensive began.

Sirens were activated across the country, and the IDF said it was actively intercepting incoming threats while conducting counterstrikes where necessary.

“The defense is not hermetic,” the IDF warned in a statement, urging the public to strictly follow Home Front Command guidelines for protection.

The escalation follows the confirmation from the President of the United States, Donald Trump of US involvement in what he described as “major combat operations” in Iran.

Trump had earlier announced in a video message that the US military had begun “major combat operations” to defend American interests by neutralizing “imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”
