Zulum predicts APC victory in 2027 as Borno elects new party executives

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress, APC, will win all elections in the state and across Nigeria in 2027.

Zulum made the statement on Tuesday in Maiduguri while addressing delegates and stakeholders during the party’s state congress.

He described the APC as a dominant force in Nigerian politics and said the party remains strategically positioned for future electoral success.

According to him, the peaceful conduct of the congress reflected unity within the party in Borno State.

“Today’s elections have shown that the state operates a unified political system within our party hierarchy,” he said, noting that there were no divisions among members.

A total of 1,560 delegates attended the congress held at the defunct Kashim Ibrahim College of Education in Maiduguri.

The exercise, chaired by Mr. Jones Erue, produced 38 state executive committee members through consensus to oversee party affairs for the next four years.

Erue said the adoption of consensus demonstrated party unity and compliance with APC constitutional guidelines.

Zulum congratulated the newly elected executives and assured them of the state government’s support.

He also said former party officials from state to ward level would be integrated into the party structure as ex-officio members in recognition of their contributions.

APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, said stakeholders agreed to adopt consensus after consultations in line with party guidelines.

Responding on behalf of the new executives, State Chairman Bello Ayuba pledged to manage the party’s affairs with transparency and accountability.

The congress was attended by former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Senators Ali Ndume and Kaka Shehu Lawan, members of the National and State Assemblies, commissioners, party officials, and representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, who supervised the exercise.
