
Following the sustained epileptic power supply across Nigeria as well as Akwa Ibom State, Governor Umo Eno has disclosed the ongoing reforms and roadmaps his administration has embarked on to address the issue.
He attributed the current power situation to low power generation across the country.
This was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Aniekan Umanah at the end of the governor’s March Projects Delivery Meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo on Tuesday.
He, therefore announced government’s efforts in engaging relevant power stakeholders for improved supply in the state.
The statement in part, “The Governor also addressed the state’s electricity situation, outlining ongoing reforms and clear roadmaps for Akwa Ibom State to take ownership of its power market.”
The Commissioner also revealed that Governor Eno has directed the constitution of an inter-ministerial committee that would drive the completion and commissioning of Youth Friendly Centres in the State even as he tasked Ministries, Departments, Agencies on collaboration for effective service and project delivery.
