The Calgary Stampeders announced Friday that Canadian device Jalen Philpot had been given a two-year commitment by the CFL team. Philpot was expected to sign for a free adviser in February. The 24-year-old from Delta, B. C., had 66 catches for 659 yards and three scores as well as 15 carries for 115 feet over 18 matches with the Soldiers in 2024 after missing the entire previous year with a hamstring break. A first-round pull in 2022, Philpot has 89 catches for 976 feet and six touchdowns over 32 regular-season activities with Calgary. He has even put up 217 career rushing yards and 573 kickoff-return miles. Before making a professional, Philpot contributed to the Raptors winning the Vanier Cup in 2019 with 113 events for 1, 889 feet, and 10 touchdowns while playing for the University of Calgary. Jalen definitely fits the description of” a key to our growth as a team,” according to Stampeders general director and head coach Dave Dickenson in a transfer.” The continued growth of our brilliant young people will be a key to our progress as a team.” We’re pleased to have him back and look forward to seeing him advance in his profession.
