Inauguration of a drinking water supply station in Ronkh: a project of 71 million FCFA for the benefit of the villages of Foy and Gawdiyeul

The commune of Ronkh, situated in the department of Dagana, officially received, on Thursday, a drinking water supply station worth 71 million FCFA. This work is intended to provide drinking water to the inhabitants of the villages of Foy and Gawdiyeul, who were deprived of this essential resource for many years, as noted by the APS. The mayor of Ronkh, Amadou Tidiane Ndiaye, expressed his satisfaction at the official reception ceremony held in the presence of the sous-préfet of the arrondissement of Ndiaye, Ousmane Diédhiou, as well as technical and financial partners from France. This project was financed to the tune of 71 million CFA francs by the French municipalities of Rezé, Commercy and Nantes-Métropole, with the support of the Agence Eau Loire-Bretagne, in partnership with the mairie de Ronkh. The works were carried out under the coordination of the Société sénégalaise de bâtiment et de travaux publics (ETIC). In addition to the construction of the infrastructure, an essential part of the project was devoted to the training of local staff to ensure optimal management of the station. Staff were trained in administrative, technical and financial management techniques, an aspect considered fundamental by the mayor of Ronkh. “In view of the importance we attach to this project, we have decided to set up recycling sessions for a full year. This will allow agents to effectively master the financial and technical management circuits, thanks to the continuous support we offer them “, said Amadou Tidiane Ndiaye. Laurence Gourvil, responsible for the European International Relations mission in the city of Rezé, welcomed this fruitful partnership.
