A collaborative effort by local organisations turned a cold winter day into one filled with warmth, laughter, and connection for Duduza’s elderly community.

Duduza – The Jobe Foundation, Upward Spiral, and School Is Cool NPC joined forces to bring warmth and joy to the elders at Tshwaranang Old Age Home in Duduza on May 24.
The organisations distributed blankets and socks to the residents, providing them with much-needed comfort during the winter months.
The event was a testament to the power of community and compassion. Entertainment included music and a master of ceremonies.
“The collaboration ensured that the residents of the old age home felt seen, heard, and cared for. The elderly danced jubilantly and had the time of their lives.

“The blankets and socks were a practical way to keep the residents warm, but the visit was also a reminder that they are not alone,” said Tshepo Sithole of School Is Cool NPC.
The organisations served a delicious meal to the residents. Sithole said the smiles of the elderly residents clearly showed their joy and gratitude. He commended the contributing organisations for their kindness and generosity.
“Their actions demonstrate a commitment to caring for the most vulnerable members of society and inspiring others to do the same.
“This heartwarming event is a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others,” concluded Sithole.
