The justice sector is about to experience a new paralysis. The two main trade union organisations, the Syndicat des Travailleurs de la Justice (SYTJUST) and the Union Nationale des Travailleurs de la Justice (UNTJ), have announced a 72-hour strike order from Monday 23 June 2025. In a joint communiqué, the National Executive Bureau (BEN) of the SYTJUST and the National Executive Secretariat (SEN) of the UNTJ inform the public that this decision is part of their fight for the defence of the material and moral interests of justice workers. This protest action is a continuation of a long-standing mobilization, which the unions denounce as a persistent mutisme de l’État. The two trade union structures, recently united in the framework of the SYTJUST-UNTJ agreement, affirm their perfect understanding in the conduct of this struggle. They intend to maintain the pressure until the full satisfaction of the demands which they consider legitimate and many times expressed. “Our determination is total”, they declared, calling on all the agents of justice to show unity, mobilization and trade union discipline in order to win this fight that they call the struggle for dignity and respect for the commitments of the State. This new strike movement could lead to serious disturbances in the functioning of the courts throughout the territory, including the suspension of hearings and the slowdown of administrative services related to justice.
