The University of Illinois at Chicago’s Chicago Justice Gallery is set to host an event titled Liberation Stories, featuring prominent communicators from the movement. UIC’s Chicago Justice Gallery will be the venue for a book event featuring Liberation Stories, alongside prominent communicators from the movement. An evening of discussion, strategy, and narrative sharing will take place with the editors and contributors of “Liberation Stories: Building Narrative Power for 21st-Century Social Movements.” This event will showcase youth organizers, cultural strategists, and prominent figures in social justice communication. Hosted by the Social Justice Initiative at the University of Illinois Chicago in collaboration with the Radical Communicators Network (RadComms), the event celebrates the upcoming release of “Liberation Stories” (New Press, June 2025). Attendees will hear from co-editors Shanelle Matthews and Marzena Zukowska, alongside contributing authors Rachel Jacoby, Tre Bosley, and Zaineb Mohammed. These advocates and narrators have played a significant role in influencing some of the most pressing political battles today, such as enacting crucial gun safety legislation in Illinois and fostering youth-driven initiatives in Chicago’s South Side.
