Esau Dlamini is writing a book aimed at teaching the importance of healing, forgiveness and speaking out against rape.

Duduza – Esau Dlamini is a journalist, aspiring author and radio personality with over 10 years of experience in print and broadcasting.

According to him, his destiny in media became a desire in Grade 11 because he loved the news and was highly opinionated from a young age.

He has worked for several publications and media houses.

“In 2013, I studied for a foundation course in photography at the Market Photo Workshop and gained phenomenal skills in photography. Some of my achievements include being nominated for the 2022 Black Entertainment Awards in the category of best journalist.

“I received a recognition award in 2022 from the National Institute for Communicable Diseases in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation. In 2024, I participated in journalism public relations training in Hyderabad, India and graduated in New Delhi,” he mentioned.

He said his experience of India was amazing, “I learnt about the Indian culture and heritage. Visited their radio stations and their community publications,” he said.

Dlamini founded the KwaTsaDuza Heroes Awards, an annual project established in 2022 to celebrate the hard work and dedication of many individuals, organisations and businesses in the Kwatsaduza townships.

He also has a passion for writing and enjoys exploring different genres.

“I have enjoyed mental activities like writing and reading since childhood. I was involved in debating and public speaking in high school. I am writing a book titled Why I Killed My Baby. The story is fiction but based on real-life circumstances.

“The aim is to highlight many stigmas, especially in our black communities, and encourage victims of statutory rape to break the silence and speak up,” added Dlamini.

He said the book also aims to teach the importance of healing and forgiveness.

Dlamini said the book does not have an age restriction because it is a story many people can relate to about sadness and adventure and is informative at the same time.

“I see myself writing and publishing more books in future. I believe writing is a powerful tool to heal, build and inspire,” said Dlamini.

Dlamini seeks sponsorship for his book publishing project, saying sponsorship or funding would help make his dream a reality.
