
Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Monitoring Committee for Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Primary Elections in Oyo State, Chief Ayo Afolabi, has urged all the aspirants contesting the primaries to accept the outcome in good faith.
Afolabi made the appeal when he led the monitoring committee to monitor the gubernatorial primary election at Ward 3, Ibadan North Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.
Afolabi, who doubles as the Publicity Secretary of the party in the South-West, said the committee is satisfied with the reports received so far.
He urged party members to come together and work as one.
Afolabi said, “My name is Chief Ayo Afolabi. I am the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee of APC Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Primary Elections in Oyo State.
“What the monitoring committee has been able to observe, particularly today, is the orderly conduct of the members. People have been obidient and orderly and we are satisfied.
“But the reality is that so far, it has been orderly. My advice to the party members, the aspirants is to accept the outcome of the results in good faith.”
One of the gubernatorial aspirants, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, who voted in the ward, also described the exercise as peaceful.
Alli while addressing journalists, urged all the aspirants and other members of the party to support whoever emerges in the primary election.
He said, “Well I am happy. You can see the process, it is free and fair. I want to advice my fellow aspirants that we should please accept the results of this primary election. That whoever emerges, we should support him.
“And I want to appeal to party members to keep calm and work for the success of the party in order to reclaim Agodi Government House in 2027.”
