AFCON 2025: Uganda’s Coach Assures They Will Be Prepared for Super Eagles

The head coach of the Cranes of Uganda, Paul Put, is eager to take on the Super Eagles in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The East African team will face off against three-time champions, the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, and the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Group C. Put recognized the formidable nature of the teams in their group and emphasized the importance of his players displaying confidence during matches. In Africa, every match is challenging. “We will be up against Nigeria, the finalists from the last tournament, and Tunisia, a team that regularly makes it to the later rounds of this competition,” he remarked following the draw ceremony. “Tanzania also brings a derby aspect, which always adds to the intensity.” Nonetheless, it is essential for us to have confidence in ourselves. The Taifa Stars are set to kick off their tournament in Morocco with a match against Tunisia on Monday, December 23. Following that, they will compete in the East Africa derby against Tanzania, before concluding their group stage games with a match against Nigeria on Tuesday, December 30. Reported by Adeboye Amosu.
