To the question ‘What clarifications can you provide in the Madiambal Diagne case, which is disputed in one of your reports? In an interview published this Thursday in Le Soleil, the president of the National Financial Intelligence Unit (CENTIF), Cheikh Mouhamadou Bamba Siby, showed himself to be a pedagogue, but firm. He first made a reminder: “The CENTIF is bound by an obligation de réserve which prohibits us from commenting on the merits of a particular case, from citing names or from reviewing the particulars of a case in progress”. It is therefore without pronouncing the name of the founder of the group Avenir communication that Siby a tenu à “rappeler trois principes simples”. CENTIF is neither a judicial authority nor a police service.
