ANSD: Strong increase in exports (514,6 billion FCFA) in June 2025 and a significant reduction in the trade deficit (-30,5 billion FCFA)

The data of the Agence nationale de la statistique et de la démographie (ANSD) on foreign trade for the month of June 20253 highlight a positive development of exports, which amount to 514,6 billion FCFA, as well as a decrease in imports, estimated at 544,9 billion FCFA. This dynamism contributed to a reduction in the trade deficit, which stood at -30.5 billion FCFA, against 87.7 billion the previous month. The Senegalese economy continues to show a positive dynamic in exports, according to the latest data put online on Tuesday on the website of the National Agency for Statistics and Demography. In June 2025, Senegal’s exports reached 7283.6 billion FCFA, compared to 469.7 billion FCFA in May, a significant increase of 9.6%. A performance driven in particular by a sharp rise in sales of crude oil, titanium, non-monetary gold, zirconium and phosphates. Exports supported by raw materials. Crude oil was the main driver of this growth, with shipments reaching 150.8 billion FCFA in June against 73.2 billion the previous month. Titanium also recorded a marked rise (73.1 billion against 5.1 billion), followed by non-monetary gold (77.6 billion), zirconium (7.5 billion) and phosphates (4.9 billion). However, this increase was partially offset by a fall in exports of refined petroleum products (13.9 billion against 102.1 billion), phosphoric acid, fresh fish, hydraulic cement and crustaceans. Compared to June 2024, exports almost doubled (+98.6%).
