Joao Felix has left Chelsea to join Al Nassr in a deal that could amount to £43.7 million. Chelsea announced the transfer on their website on Tuesday, which consists of an initial payment of £26.2 million along with £17.5 million in potential performance-based bonuses. In their statement, they confirmed that Joao Felix has officially joined Al-Nassr on a permanent basis. The Portuguese forward played 20 matches for Chelsea last season, scoring seven goals after transferring from Atletico Madrid. He had also spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan before making this permanent move to the Saudi Pro League team, Al-Nassr. Chelsea expressed gratitude for Joao’s contributions during his time at the club and wished him success in his future endeavors. Sky Sports reports that Benfica, Felix’s former club, had been in discussions to bring the 25-year-old back. However, Al Nassr has successfully secured Felix’s signing as they aim to compete for the Saudi Pro League title, having also renewed Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract. Additionally, the club has appointed seasoned Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus as their new manager. The sale of Felix will enable Chelsea to expedite their pursuit of RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons, as further acquisitions this summer rely on player departures.
