Chinese national arrested for alleged sexual assault at Ogun quarry 

A 59-year-old Chinese national has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault at a quarry site in the Kobape area of Ogun State.

The suspect was taken into custody following a complaint by the victim, authorities said.

The incident reportedly occurred on January 25, 2026, at the quarry facility within the area.

A senior security officer, who requested anonymity as he was not authorised to speak publicly, confirmed the arrest.

“The suspect was apprehended following an allegation of indecent assault at a Kobape quarry. He has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, for thorough investigation,” the officer said.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, confirmed that the command had launched a full investigation into the matter.

“Investigation is ongoing,” he added.
