Pretoria – The City of Tshwane, which says it has fully endorsed “The Bigg Pull 2026”, is urging residents to support the charity fundraiser.
The Bigg Pull challenges 20 strength athletes, known as the Power Team, to haul a truck for 1 650 km from Pretoria to Cape Town over a period of 41 days.
The initiative organised by Gentle Giant Promotions is aimed at raising much-needed funds for various charity organisations.
A diverse Power Team of participants, male and female, who have “committed their might and strength for a worthy cause”, was unveiled on Friday, 21 August 2026.
Each Power Team member will wear a logo with a symbol that represents one of the 19 chosen charity organisations.
These charities help society’s most vulnerable members, such as abandoned children, blind citizens, intellectually disabled citizens, abandoned animals, burn victims and disaster relief food distribution.
The team will officially depart on the 41-day journey on 2 November 2026 at the South African Air Force Base in Centurion.
The City of Tshwane said the team was expected to arrive in Cape Town on 12 December 2026.

Each donation made through streaming and sponsorship revenue will go directly to the identified charities.
The City of Tshwane said it will continue to endorse organisations that help strengthen communities.
“Meaningful social impact cannot be achieved by the government alone,” said the City of Tshwane.
“Partnerships with charity organisations, businesses and religious stakeholders are key to building strong communities.
