​Dakar: the Archbishop appoints two new Vicars General 

  The Archbishop of Dakar, Monseigneur André Gueye, is responsible for the new appointments within the diocese. By a decree dated 1 August 2025, he appointed the abbé René Marie Diouf as “Vicaire général et Modérateur de la Curie”. He will be “in charge of the pastoral ensemble”. In the same document received by PressAfrik, the abbé Benoît Nobé Marone was appointed “vicaire général charged du temporel”, that is to say des affaires matérielles et administratives. These decisions will take effect from 1 October 2025 and also mark the end of the functions of the Vicar General for the Abbé Gérard Marie Diène, who is leaving this office. The decree specifies that it will be “published by announcement in the whole of the Archdiocese of Dakar”. These appointments take place “in the framework of the pastoral and administrative organization of the Archdiocese”, in accordance with the Code of Canon Law and the directives of the Catholic Church.
