The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, chaired on Thursday 23 October 2025 the first session of the Conseil Supérieur d’Orientation Agro-Sylvo-Pastorale (CSOASP), a strategic framework for dialogue and consultation between the State and the actors of the rural world. This meeting, held at the Palais de la République, marked a historic stage: it was the first time in twenty years that a session of the CSOASP had been convened since the adoption of the Loi d’Orientation Agro-Sylvo-Pastorale et Halieutique (LOASPH). This session was an opportunity to present the revised version of the LOASPH, adapted to the new challenges of sustainable development, food sovereignty and the modernization of the agricultural sector. The revival of this strategic instance reflects the will of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to build a Senegalese agricultural model, based on autonomy, sustainability and social justice, a model capable of feeding the population while preserving future generations.
