Eid-El-Kabir: ‘Shun violence, electoral malpractices’ – APM to Nigerian politicians

The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has charged Nigerians to use this festive season of sacrifice to offer prayers for the nation.

The party said this in its message to Muslims in the country as they mark this year’s Eid al-Kabir.

The party urged the faithful to imbibe the virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice and compassion, drawing inspiration from Prophet Ibrahim’s submission to the will of Allah.

The statement signed by its National Chairman, Dr Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, said the festival calls for sober reflection, devotion and submission to Allah, to guide and guard citizens in building a better society.

“Nigerians should use this Festival of Sacrifice to pray for the nation in this electoral season. Power belongs to Allah, and He gives it to whomever He wishes,” he said.

“Politicians should therefore shun violence and other electoral malpractices as we strive to build a decent democratic society that respects the sanctity of the ballot box.”

APM urged governments at all levels to prioritise the welfare of the people. Nigerians desire and deserve good governance.

He added, “The interest of the people supersedes partisan politics. This is in tandem with the Allied People’s Movement’s ideology of the People First, as seen in the two states where the party is in power – Bauchi and Oyo States.

“As the fastest-growing political party in Nigeria, APM will continue to put the people first, as sovereignty resides in them. The party is ready to reset Nigeria and make it great again through the ongoing Great Alliance for the 2027 general election.

“It is time to set aside political differences and join the PDP – APM Alliance that fosters national security, unity, equity, inclusivity and prosperity.”
