El-Rufai claims that it was Buhari who compelled him to take on the role of governor of Kaduna.  

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has disclosed that he was pressured by ex-President Muhammadu Buhari to pursue the gubernatorial position. During an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time on Monday evening, he indicated that he might consider switching to another political party if the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not maintain its principles and ideals.
