The Deputy Mayor of Aganams, Mouhamadou Ngom, said Farba Ngom currently detained in Rebeuss, categorically rejects the rumors according to which he would have tried to bribe Me Cire Clédor Ly with 100 million F CFA to join his defense. In a communiqué published on 17 August 2025, his collective of lawyers called these accusations “grotesque” and “totally false”, denouncing a new attempt to damage the image of their client. Le texte précise que Farba Ngom n’a jamais eu de contact avec Me Cire Clédor Ly et ne connaît ni l’adresse, ni les coordonnées de son cabinet. (The text specifies that Farba Ngom has never had contact with Me Cire Clédor Ly and does not know the address or the details of his cabinet.) For the record, the former deputy was placed under a deposit mandate on 27 February 2025 in a case of fraud and money laundering estimated at 31 billion CFA francs. The document also underlines that Farba Ngom salutes the work of his lawyers “for their commitment and professionalism”.
