In the framework of his official visit to Turkey, the Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, was received on Thursday 07 August 2025 in Ankara by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At his arrival at the presidential palace, Mr. Sonko was received with honors. The two leaders have passed the Turkish Republican Guard before entertaining head-to-head. Arriving in Turkey on Wednesday, the Senegalese head of government made a five-day visit at the invitation of President Erdogan. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising several members of the Government and technical officials. During this visit, several cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries, covering strategic sectors such as energy, agriculture and the defence industry. These commitments are part of a shared desire to strengthen bilateral relations between Senegal and Turkey.
