Fonte suggests that Van Dijk is set to depart from Liverpool this summer.

Jose Fonte, the former captain of Southampton, has revealed that Virgil van Dijk, the defender for Liverpool, is expected to depart Anfield this summer for a more prominent club. It is noteworthy that the Reds’ captain’s contract expires at the end of the season. In an interview with AS, Fonte mentioned that top clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich would be interested in acquiring him. “Virgil van Dijk would excel at Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich, and it wouldn’t shock me if he ends up at one of those teams next season. These clubs will seek defenders with Van Dijk’s dependability, and many will keep an eye on whether he stays without a new contract until the season’s end. He is still capable of performing at the top level and has proven he can handle himself well.” He shouldn’t encounter any difficulties maintaining peak performance for the next three to four years.
