Oussouye- Il était un maire proche de sa population. “Léopold used to do social acts in the greatest discretion”, testifies one of his relatives announcing the bad news. He died in the night of Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 October at his home in Cabrousse in the department of Oussouye. Yet, l’édile was not ill. There was no sign either that he was ill in point after one of his close friends. In fact, this Sunday, he had planned to take breakfast at one of these collaborators, but unfortunately, another close friend was disappointed. As a member of the caisse de dépôt et de consignation, Léopold Abba Diatta was involved in politics under the banner of the Alliance for the Republic (APR).
He was the son of Léopold Abba Diatta, mayor of Diembering.
