The negotiation representative for Ontario’s 24 public schools and the union representing instructors have agreed to enter into binding mediation, avoiding a hit. Following months of negotiations, the College Employer Council and the Ontario Public Services Employees Union met this week in Toronto for intervention. The union, which represents more than 15 000 faculty members in the state, had claimed that after giving five weeks ‘ see last week, some form of labor action might have begun on Thursday. According to the report, it stated on Tuesday that the employers and the government had agreed on” major benefit gains,” but that the negotiations then remained in limbo, with the arbiter ultimately deciding the issues to be resolved.
