
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, Imo State chapter, has re-elected its former State Chairman, James Okoroma and 15 former State Executive members.
The former State executive members, who were re-elected through voice votes, include the Deputy State Chairman, Demian Ezeagu, the State Publicity Secretary, Macdonald Amadi, the State Legal Adviser, Barr. Kissinger Ikeokwu and chairmen from the three geopolitical zones in the State.
The Congress was conducted by the Committee Chairman from ADC national Headquarters, Okem UK, alongside his members.
Speaking earlier at the event which took place at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Arena, Owerri, former Governor of the State, Emeka Ihedioha expressed contentment with the turn out of the party delegates from the 27 council areas of the State.
He stressed that the party so far had registered over 200,000 members, assuring that the exercise would continue after the congresses.
In his comment, Achike Udenwa, also one time Governor of the State, commended all the delegates and party members for their conduct during the congress.
He stated that ADC as one of the well organised and recognized party in the country will continue to welcome more new members.
Udenwa recalled that the successful conduct of Wards and LGAs congresses held across the State made the State congress a successful one.
In his acceptance speech, the new State Chairman, Okoroma thanked all party leaders and members for giving him another opportunity to serve the party.
He promised to serve with dignity and best of his ability to actualise and bring the party to the part of victory in the State.
āWith the two former Governors of the State as leaders, there is no reason the party cannot lay a solid foundation in the State,ā he said.
