Incident involving Ibom Air: NCAA calls in passengers and crew members.

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called Comfort Emmanson and Ibom Air flight attendant Juliana Edward to account for an event that occurred on an Ibom Air flight traveling from Uyo to Lagos on August 10. Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, verified this information while speaking to reporters at the Emergency National Civil Aviation Security Committee and Stakeholders Meeting in Abuja on Tuesday. “I spoke with Ms. Emmanson this morning,” he stated. We are extending an invitation to the Ibom Air cabin crew to take part in the ongoing investigation regarding the incident. “They will arrive tomorrow,” he stated. Achimugu clarified that the pilot did not ask for security assistance upon landing in Lagos since the issue seemed to have been addressed mid-flight. However, he mentioned that Emmanson, who allegedly went to the restroom after landing, was the last person to exit the aircraft. He promised Nigerians that the NCAA would conduct a comprehensive investigation, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to uncovering the complete details of the incident. Meanwhile, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Aviation, attributed the increase in disruptive behavior within the industry to what he sees as a decrease in discipline among passengers, airport personnel, and airline staff. He highlighted the necessity of professionalism in the field and praised the NCAA for upholding regulations. Additionally, he urged other aviation agencies to collaborate effectively with the NCAA to maintain safety and security in the sector.
