Senior Investigative Directorate Against Corruption investigator Brian Padayachee has rejected allegations of a ‘Khan-Idac cabal’ operating in the South African Police Service (SAPS), describing the claims as baseless. Appearing before the Madlanga Commission, Padayachee also addressed accusations that Idac operated outside its mandate, illegally pursued charges against Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo, and was influenced by a network linked to Feroz Khan. He further expressed surprise at KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi’s public corruption accusations, detailing their prior cordial interactions.
