In a shift that looks set to stir – and maybe even stir – one of Hollywood’s most bankable businesses, Amazon MGM Studio is to get creative power of James Bond, as the mythical European sniper’s long-time producers move up.

The freedom to 007 will now be divided between the film powerhouse and producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who are retiring, according to an announcement made on Thursday.
Viewers left to fend off the secret agent in the fourth Bond movie, four years after the last one, with debate about who will take his place.
The market might not have to wait too long for the upcoming film or for spin-offs then that Amazon is in charge.

After signing off with” No Time to Die,” the 25th James Bond film, which grossed$ 775 million, Wilson and Broccoli will no longer be a part of the Bond franchise.
Wilson, whose occupation with 007 encompasses roughly 60 years, said he would target on” art and generous jobs”, while Broccoli has announced plans to pursue other ventures.

” We are honoured to maintain this cherished heritage”, said Mike Hopkins, mind of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, noting the show’s six-decade effect on film society.
The package builds on Amazon’s 2022 merger of MGM, which included distribution rights to Bond’s broad up library.
The new agreement gives Amazon MGM Studios creative control over upcoming performances of the company, which has strongly guarded the Broccoli home since Albert” Cubby” Broccoli and Harry Saltzman first introduced Ian Fleming’s character to venues.
Barbara Broccoli, who has worked with four different actors in the role of 007 – Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Craig – described her tenure as “dedicated to maintaining and building upon the extraordinary legacy” inherited from Cubby, her father.
In their opposition to spin-offs and licensing, Wilson and Broccoli fought back vehemently to defend the James Bond character and brand.
The joint venture’s financial details were kept secret.
Fans lamented what they believed to be the unavoidable over-exploitation of the brand by the Amazon juggernaut, with the reaction to the news on social media largely downbeat.
Several users posted memes of dead headstones and franchise characters on Twitter as” RIP James Bond.”
“DON’T cinematic universe James Bond”, wrote @joerussotweets, referring to the vast expansion of Marvel characters under Disney ownership.
” It is one of our last, great theatrical events. Don’t dilute that with a plethora of streaming spin-offs”.
Fans may be irritated by the occasionally lengthy waits between installments, but some criticized the potential speed of the process.
” We used to get a ( generally ) very good James Bond movie every few years, but that’s all out the window now. Get ready for Young Q and 00 Origins: Trevelyan and other unwatchable Amazon Prime slop”, wrote @MikeBeauvais.
