Kaolack: the Amicale des administrateurs civils calls for calm after the incident between the prefect and the mayor

Following the verbal altercation that took place on Sunday between the prefect of Kaolack, Latyr Ndiaye, and the mayor Serigne Mboup during the National Day of the Tree, the Amicale des administrateurs civils du Sénégal (AACS) calls for dépassement et à la sérénité. In a communiqué, the AACS expresses its deep regret at the inappropriate exchange and its exploitation, recalling that the administrative and territorial authorities must maintain complementary relations, guided by the principles of legality, subsidiarity and mutual respect. L’Amicale pointed out that the programme of the Day of the Tree had been validated the previous day in consultation with all the parties concerned, including the mayor, who, however, opposed the holding of the activity, contesting the legitimacy of the organising association which he accused of lack of transparency. Finally, the AACS recalls that the prefect, in his capacity as representative of the State and President of the Republic, acts within the framework of his legal prerogatives and must, in all circumstances, exercise reserve and courtesy in the exercise of his missions.
