Kasoa Ritual Murder – 15-Year-Old Sentenced To 12 Months Imprisonment For Role In Brutal Murder Of 10-Year-Old Boy  

A 15-year-old child has been sentenced to 12 months in prison at the Senior Correctional Centre after being found guilty of conspiring with another girl to death a 10-year-old son in Kasoa for alleged cash tradition.
The tragic event occurred on April 3, 2021, when the adolescent and his friend lured the younger child, Ishmael, into an uncompleted creating under the pretext of playing a sport. When there, the next accused struck Ishmael on the back of the neck with a spade club, causing him to drop incapacitated. Despite pleading for his career and asking for forgiveness, Ishmael was therefore struck on the mind with a cement block by the adolescent. The two youth, who had consulted a mystic for a cash tradition, were told by the mystic that they needed GH¢5,000 and a mortal devotion. The adolescent and his friend decided to use Ishmael for this ceremony and buried him in a shallow tomb after the terrible attack, intending to carry his system to the spiritualist. In judge, before receiving his word, the 15-year-old emotionally pleaded for forgiveness, stating, “It was never my intention to kill my dear companion and to end his life this way. I pray the court may accept all my sins and give me a second opportunity. ” He also asked for forgiveness from the deceased’s parents. “ I have played with Ishmael ( deceased ) for a very long time. I always planned to kill him. It was the devil, ” he added. Presiding Judge Bernice Mensimah Ackon acknowledged that the adolescent had previously served three years and two weeks while on custody. As required by the Juvenile Justice Act, 2003 (ACT 653 ), the case was handled by the Juvenile Court for punishment, and the jury decided to word the 15-year-old to 12 weeks at a top correctional heart. The jury took into account the juvenile’s expressed intention to pursue a specialized profession, as he had dropped out of school after Basic 6.
