Kevin Taylor criticizes nursing trainees for spending their stipends on their boyfriends and costly accommodations, expressing relief that this practice has been stopped.

Controversial U.S.-based Ghanaian political commentator, Kevin Taylor, has claimed that nursing trainees use their allowances for frivolous activities like feeding their boyfriends hence, it’s a good idea for the government to cancel it.
Taylor, speaking on his radio show With All Due Respect on the Loud Silence Network, said the announcement by the government that they are cancelling teaching and nursing training allowances is the right decision.
According to Taylor, it is better for the government to provide loans for students who want to take advantage of it to access than to pay all trainees across the board, especially because they ‘waste’ the money.
Taylor alleged that most nursing trainees use their allowances to start businesses or to rent expensive rooms to stay in instead of taking advantage of the school-provided accommodation. He said it is very common to find a nursing trainee living in a rented apartment and using her allowance to feed her boyfriend rather than on any substantial.
The controversial commentator said the allowances are a drain on government resources and should be cancelled and if a nurse or teacher trainee feel they cannot afford their education, then they can go and learn a trade!
