Durban – A passenger died in a single-vehicle crash on Dumisanya Makhaya Drive near KwaDabeka.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said three other people were hurt in the morning crash on Monday, 31 August 2026.
“Just after 06:30 am this morning, ALS Paramedics responded to a horrific single-vehicle crash on Dumisanya Makhaya Drive near KwaDabeka,” said Jamieson.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos and carnage as they found that a single vehicle had somehow lost control and rolled numerous times, coming to rest on its wheels in the middle of the road.”
Jamieson said paramedics assessed the scene and found that the single vehicle had four occupants who had all sustained various injuries.
“One passenger, a male believed to be in his 20s, had sustained major injuries, and there was nothing Paramedics could do for him; he was declared deceased on the scene,” said the ALS Paramedics spokesperson.
“Three other occupants had sustained various injuries, and once stabilised on the scene, the injured were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
“At this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown; however, South African Police Service officers were in attendance and will be investigating further.”
