Latimer.AI, BGC Collaborate to Empower Future Black Women in Tech

NEW YORK, NY – Latimer.AI, the pioneering inclusive Large Language Model (LLM), has announced an exciting partnership with Black Girls Code (BGC), a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 to empower Black girls and young women to pursue careers in technology. This collaboration represents a significant step toward diversifying the tech industry and fostering a more inclusive future.

Through this partnership, BGC students will gain unrestricted access to Latimer.AI’s innovative platform, enabling them to engage with a bias-adjusted AI environment tailored to enrich their learning experiences. By providing tools that offer historically accurate and inclusive data, Latimer.AI aims to empower the next generation of tech innovators.

As part of this initiative, John Pasmore, Founder and CEO of Latimer.AI, and Cristina Mancini, CEO of Black Girls Code, will embark on a mini-speaking tour. The tour will feature AI Yard Fest, a newly launched daylong event sponsored by HBCU Cares, designed to connect technology, talent, and culture at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This event will serve as a hub for fostering innovation, infrastructure, and inclusion.

“AI is transforming every facet of our lives, from healthcare to education, but it’s crucial to consider who is behind the coding,” said Mancini. “Bias can easily be embedded into technology when underrepresented communities are excluded. That’s why I admire John Pasmore and Latimer.AI’s dedication to making inclusion a priority. It’s essential for our girls to see themselves reflected in the systems they interact with, and Latimer.AI offers a powerful tool designed with them in mind.”

The tech industry continues to struggle with a lack of diversity, particularly among Black women, who are significantly underrepresented in AI and technology roles. This partnership offers a unique opportunity for the BGC community to engage with AI in a meaningful, hands-on way. Beyond gaining technical skills, participants will also learn about the intricate processes of programming and developing advanced technologies, thanks to Latimer.AI’s commitment to creating equitable and inclusive tools.

“By supporting initiatives like Black Girls Code, we are investing in a future where diverse talent can not only engage with technology but also shape it,” said Pasmore. “Our AI is more than just a tool; it’s a catalyst for change. Empowering young Black girls and women to take part in developing technology ensures that their voices, ideas, and perspectives contribute to the next wave of innovation.”

Starting in 2025, Pasmore and Mancini will take AI Yard Fest on the road to Alabama, sharing their expertise and engaging with students to strengthen Black and Brown communities. The duo is committed to forging partnerships with organizations that share their vision of creating equitable opportunities for underrepresented groups.

“This collaboration is about more than just technology—it’s about building a future where the tech industry mirrors the diversity of the world it serves,” Pasmore added. “By equipping young Black girls and women with cutting-edge tools and knowledge, we’re taking a meaningful step toward equity in tech. Together, we’re not just bridging gaps in technology; we’re laying the foundation for a stronger, more diverse future.”

This partnership reflects a shared vision of creating a tech landscape that celebrates diversity and empowers historically marginalized communities, ensuring technology becomes a tool for inclusion and progress.
