Marche Rose de la DER: The First Lady calls for a daily commitment and early detection

Dakar, 12 October 2025 The First Lady Absa Faye has capitalized on the Rose March of the Directorate of Employment and Resources (DER/FJ) to address a strong message to the nation. Beyond the framework of the annual ritual, she recalled that the month of October is above all a moment to affirm that “prevention saves and solidarity protects”. In a powerful speech, Mme Faye sought to demystify the disease, assuring that breast cancer is not a fatality. “It prevents, it cures, it overcomes”, she insisted, conditioning this success on vigilance, information and unity. The challenge of this mobilization is, according to the First Lady, to concretize the commitment of “never leave a woman alone in the face of the disease”, a mission that she has elevated to the rank of national priority. She also stressed that “to protect the health of women is to protect the strength of a whole country”. Beyond this mass mobilization, the First Lady recalled that the commitment is also personal.
