Nigerian gospel song Mercy Chinwo bravely revealed her ongoing legal battle with Ezekiel ThankGod, her original label director and music manufacturer, Eezee Concept. In an emotional Instagram videos, Chinwo shared her side of the story, revealing the dangerous surroundings she experienced under Eezee’s control.
Eezee proposed extending her five-year commitment to twelve times in 2019, a plan Chinwo rejected because of her own professional objectives. This rejection, she claimed, led to a strained relationship with Eezee, who reportedly subjected her to verbal and emotional abuse. Chinwo recalled Eezee making threatening notes, saying,” I may deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are, I can shut you up, and nobody will notice you again”.
Grateful for the support of her followers, Chinwo said,” First, I want to say thanks to people for your tremendous love and support. Never did I think that I would relax around and tell my story. I thought I might clarify a lot of the false information about the Mercy Chinwo brand in order to serve the body of Christ.
She continued, addressing the government’s misinterpretation of her complaint:” A gentleman said I sued him, came online, and made movies to destroy my picture. He looked at me and said,’ I made you who you are, and I did ruin you.’ Because of this man’s poisonous atmosphere, I had to relocate from Lagos to Port Harcourt because I was terrified of losing my career.
Chinwo went on to criticise Eezee of withholding her revenues for two decades, calling him a “bully” and “oppressor”. She also mentioned that Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, whom he allegedly disliked, collaborated with Eezee, who spread false stories about her. Eezee allegedly contacted blogs to falsely say that her son wasn’t it, according to Chinwo.
In her strong final statement, Chinwo declared,” You want me to love people you hate, but when I say no, you harass me. You are a harasser, you have influencers, but I have God. You can’t save me. What you are doing right now is the worst you can do. You have blogs, but I have God, and God will not let your plans come to pass”.
