An audio recording of Abena Korkor’s family speaking about her mother’s state has popped up on social media.
In the voice, Abena Korkor’s family is heard for the first time explaining precisely how her mother’s condition affects Abena herself and the community at large.
She said contrary to the way Citizens believe that Abena is’ bodam anite3 ‘ – ie, she deliberately behaves the way she does for attention—Korkor’s mom said that is not the situation at all.
She said whenever Abena has a relapse, she is unable to control her actions according to her head not working in its correct position. She said that makes Abena taking actions that do not count with her ordinary behavior and people should know that is the problem of having a mental health condition.
Korkor’s family said, despite all this, she’s doing much today as they have been going to review and getting treatment, which she diligently takes.
She added that individually, she believes Korkor’s issue is spiritual, but, doctors are not engaged in that whenever she brings it up.
